Monday night, Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs was selected by the Polaris Music Prize grand jury as the best Canadian album of the year. They were awarded with $30,000, a giant novelty cheque and bragging rights, not to mention, another ‘album of the year’ honour to put with the Grammy, BRIT and Juno they were already presented with earlier in 2011.
Damian managed to get an exclusive with Win Butler, Jeremy Gara and Richard Reed Parry, where they discussed winning all the time, er… Toddlers & Tiaras, Damian’s suit, and a secret horror movie they’re making. They also compared their respective Polaris cheques and first broke the news to bandmate Regine Chassagne that they were 30 grand richer.
Watch it all happen below.
