Frank Ocean made his SNL debut this past weekend with performances of his tracks Thinkin’ Bout You and his new single Pyramids. Backed by a full band, including John Mayer on the guitar, Ocean donned his trademark red and white headband and finished his casual look with a Supreme hockey jersey and jeans.
While Ocean did cut the 10 minute Pyramids track down to three minutes for the live show, the song still resonated with viewers, an impressive feat on a stage that has left so many superstars looking less than average. Frank finished the song by turning the attention to Mayer’s guitar solo and playing a game of Tekken set up to the right of Mayer on stage.
Ocean wasn’t the only musician to hit the famous stage at 30 Rockefellar on Saturday night. In a skit with first-time host and Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane, Gangnam Style artist Psy also performed, helping to brighten the day of a disgruntled Lids employee.
