Haim just released their new video for the Days Are Gone track If I Could Change Your Mind directed by Warren Fu. The girls impress us with some great dance moves, choreographed by Fatima Robinson and it’s the kind of dance moves that us, loser, uncoordinated people could possibly pull off. Well, maybe not. But a girl can dream, right!? Watch the music video for Haim’s If I Could Change Your Mind below, along with some other music videos that feature great choreography.
Beyoncé – Single Ladies
I couldn’t make a list of choreographed music videos without including this one. Ya’ll would throw me some serious cut eye through the Internet air waves if I made that terrible error. Choreographed by Frank Gatson and JaQuel Knight, this dance will go down in history. It even inspired a ton of parodies like this unforgettable one.
Michael Jackson – Thriller
Here’s another music video that if I didn’t include, I would literally get burned at the stake. I think it’s the only 13-minute music video that you could never get bored of.
Lady Gaga – Bad Romance
I’m really glad it’s not 2009 anymore because everyone seemed to be doing this dance move. I’ll put aside my annoyances and give this choreography 2 thumbs up.
OK Go – Here It Goes Again
Ok, this choreography might not be in the same category as Beyoncé or Michael Jackson but it deserves to be on the list. I mean, I’m afraid to just walk on a treadmill, let alone perform a choreographed dance. Trish Sie is the brain behind this choreography and also directed the video along with Ok Go.
Radiohead – Lotus Flower
Thom Yorke’s dance moves might be a little awkward and quirky, which is probably why a ton of people made fun of him, but we’re into it.
Feist – 1234
We saw a different side to Feist in the music video for 1234 and it’s probably the last time we’ll ever see her in a bright, colourful, choreographed music video again. But we’re okay with that because this video is great and nothing like it could top it.
Kanye West – Runaway
Runaway is not only gorgeously shot but the choreography is equally gorgeous. Ballet is cool, guys.
Robyn – Call Your Girlfriend
Robyn’s comeback in 2010 with Body Talk Pt. 1, 2, and 3 was flawless: Her music, her look, and her badass dance routines, in platform shoes, at that. Maria “Decida” Wahlberg choreographed this bad boy.
Blood Orange – Time Will Tell
Blood Orange’s Time Will Tell off of his album Cupid Deluxe got a great video treatment, as does all of his singles. He’s got some slick dance moves, lemme tell ya.
Janelle Monáe – Tightrope
Janelle Monáe’s dance moves are tight. It’s funny because she’s great at dancing but also her song has the word “tight” in it.
Fatboy Slim – Weapon of Choice
The Spike Jonze-directed Weapon of Choice will always remain a classic music video. Christopher Walken (who’s actually a trained dancer) is perfection.
‘N Sync – Bye Bye Bye
This list couldn’t be complete without some love for the boy bands. They were great at dancing AND lip-syncing and being totes cute.
Backstreet Boys – Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)
When I typed this song title into YouTube, I almost clicked on a clip from Everybody Loves Raymond.
Britney Spears – …Baby One More Time
Britney Spears hit it big with this song and definitely made this video and dance an iconic one.
The Black Keys – Lonely Boy
If you’re not a dancer, you might be feeling down on yourself after watching all of these amazing dance routines. But don’t fret…at least we could all pull off these SICK moves:
