Watch Hedley now at the Olympic Block Party

We told you about the party on Tuesday and so we hope you’re watching the live stream now of the Canadian Olympic Team Block Party, and watch out because the @CTVOlympics social team will be with the athletes as they “take-over” the @CTVOlympics account. They will be tweeting updates and posting photos on Twitter and Facebook. Get in on the conversation this Thursday from 1 – 3 pm ET by streaming the event on CTVOlympics.ca and using the hashtag #athletetakeover.

Our Canadian Olympic athletes are preparing to head to London for the Summer Games and who better to give them a rocking send off then performers from the 2010 Vancouver Closing Ceremonies than Hedley! Hedley are throwing a Block Party at Party Maple Leaf Square in Toronto and you can watch the party live on CTVOlympics.ca now until 3pm!

Hosted by TSN’s Cabbie Richards along with co-hosts James Duthie of TSN and Chantal Machabee of RDS, the afternoon celebration is sure to bring out plenty of Olympic fans—and national pride. Watch the best and brightest Canadian Olympians rock out to Hedley’s biggest hits as they head to London to represent their home country this Thursday. The event acts as a send-off for some of Canada’s London-bound athletes, including Toronto-based trampolinists Jason Burnett, Karen Cockburn and Rosie MacLennan, members of the Canadian gymnastics squad, as well as swimmers Brittany MacLean and Tobias Oriwol, and modern pentathlete Donna Vakalis. It is also a chance to recognize some of the Winter Olympians who brought magic to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, such as Olympic bronze medallist Joannie Rochette and members of the gold medal-winning women’s hockey team including Jennifer Botterill and Jayna Hefford. The block party is also a time to recognize athletes from past Olympic competitions, like skiers Brian Stemmle and Deidra Dionne and rower—and current CTVOlympics analyst—Marnie McBean.
