Yesterday we heard Kanye West “apologize” to George W. Bush on The Today Show, but we also saw a string of tweets where the rap star went off on host Matt Lauer for playing the infamous clip from the 2009 MTV Awards while he was talking.
Now video of that awkward moment between Kanye and Lauer has leaked. In it, Kanye attempts to discuss how he was accused of being racist for interrupting Taylor Swift’s Video of the Year speech, when NBC aired the clip.
Says Kanye, “Yo, how am I supposed to talk when you run this thing in the middle while I’m talking. I’m hearing it while I’m trying to talk. Please don’t let that happen again. It’s, like, ridiculous.”
Lauer ends up explaining that producers always air clips of incidents and/or locations to give context, but you get the sense that Kanye is a bit sick of having that moment rubbed in his face.
