We asked the guys in Down With Webster to give us their thoughts on the Punta Cana Challenge and here’s what they had to say:
When MuchMusic asked us to come back and host their 2012 Spring Break special, we all had the same response: “YES! Yes, yes, yes, yes, f*cking Yessss”. We had just finished WINtour, six weeks of non-stop shows through the frozen tundra in the middle of winter, so the decision to escape to a tropical island for a week of extreme partying and morally casual behavior was an easy one. However, there was one major question that remained… “how were we going to top our last spring break trip with MuchMusic in 2010?”.
Since we just finished coming off of tour, we knew our bodies were in peak physical condition, that is, for partying and depriving our bodies of much needed sleep in the name of fun. In our experience creating entertaining videos comes down to a very scientific formula. The more humiliating, painful or dangerous something is for us, the more entertaining it will be for everyone else. Sacrifices have to be made and with that in mind, the band entered a pact together to put dignity aside for everyone else’s benefit, and go as hard as we could for six days. And let us tell you….we did just that.
We laughed, we cried (more specifically, we mostly cried from laughing so hard and just a little bit from pain). We made some new friends and reconnected with some old ones, and pushed our bodies to unreasonable limits all for your entertainment.
