Musical tributes come out in various forms, but few bands deserve a cake designed specifically for them by professionals more than indie rock heroes Pavement. For the last couple of weeks the above photo has been circulating around blogs and finally last night we got to see what this was all about.
On Food Network’s Ace of Cakes, the team from Baltimore’s Charm City Cakes wanted to honour some of the cakemakers’ favourite band, Pavement, while they were performing in New York last September. Taking inspiration from the band’s recent “best of” compilation, Quarantine the Past, the cake is a horse from the album cover, covered in very Pavement-y graffiti.
You can watch the Pavement segment of the show in two parts over at the Eater blog.
