We don’t wanna be all like, hey, we rocked this year, but yeah, we rocked this year. From the MMVAs to the Live At Much’s to New.Music.Live, MuchMusic has been the stage for the biggest performances of the year. But we can’t take all the credit. You dudes tell us who you want to see and we do everything we can to get you Gaga, Gomez, Hedley and more. And we’ll let you in on a music industry secret – performing in front of two people is kinda meh. The best performances are in front of thousands of screaming fans and that’s where you guys come. We love seeing you rock out in our parking lot and studios and can’t wait to see familiar and new faces in 2012!
Until then, let’s countdown the best and biggest MuchMusic performances of 2011!
10. Marianas Trench perform Haven’t Had Enough during their Live At Much.
Releasing a concept album is a daunting task, but it was one that Marianas Trench were ready for in 2011. We loved their performance of the first single off their 2011 album Ever After.
9. Selena Gomez performs Who Says at the 2011 MMVAs.
While Gomez went on to host a number of awards show in 2011, including the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV EMAs, we’d like to note that one awards show snag the starlet first – that would be us. (Pause for pat on back)
8. LMFAO perform Sexy And I Know It on New.Music.Live.
It’s a non-stop party when LMFAO hit the stage, but we just wish they wouldn’t be so shy. Come on guys, you don’t have to be serious all the time.
7. Down With Webster perform Your Man during their Live At Much.
MuchMusic has always been a big supporter of DWW, so watching the guys play their first big hit while enjoying their first Live At Much was pretty amazing to witness.
6. Rogers Presents: Live At Much w/ Foster The People performing Pumped Up Kicks.
Just when we thought we had gotten kinda tired of hearing the catchiest song of 2011, Foster The People reworked their break out tune and reminded fans why it’s such an amazing track.
5. Cody Simpson performs On My Mind on New.Music.Live.
When Cody walked the red carpet at the 2011 MMVAs, fans went crazy. When we announced he was appearing on New.Music.Live. this December, it was utter mayhem.
4. Jessie J performs Price Tag on New.Music.Live.
From songwriter to singer, Jessie J has become a feminist icon and an award winning artist in 2011 and we couldn’t have been more excited to have the UK born musician at Much this year!
3. Bruno Mars performs Just The Way You Are at the 2011 MMVAs.
During his Saturday rehearsal, Mars serenaded the thousands of fans standing in the sweltering heat waiting for the crooner with a number of his hit songs from Doo Wops and Hooligans. Nice to fans + amazing voice = We Love You Bruno.
2. Hedley perform Cha Ching during their Live At Much.
Have you ever seen a more exciting start to a live, televised show? Neither have we.
1. Lady Gaga performs Born This Way at the 2011 MMVAs.
Blue pubic hair = minds blown.
