Toronto’s We Day event was a huge success. From performances by City and Colour and Nelly Furtado, to inspiring speakers like Spencer West and Rick Hansen, it’s impossible to walk away from We Day not wanting to change the world. There were so many amazing moments that we lost count, but you can relive them during a special presentation of We Day on MuchMusic on October 30 at 7 pm ET.
For now we’ve narrowed down the top three We Day moments!
Degrassi’s Munro Chambers and Aislinn Paul Remember Their Time In Haiti
This summer the cast of Degrassi travelled to Haiti to help a community that had been devastated by natural disasters. Munro and Aislinn shared moving stories from their time in Haiti and left us truly inspired to participate in a Free The Children volunteer mission.
Marc & Craig Kielburger talk about Free The Children
It’s pretty difficult to listen to brothers Marc and Craig Kielburger talk about Free The Children and We Day and not be inspired to change the world. Starting the organization when Craig was only 12, the men have made an incredible impact in places like Kenya, Haiti and India where children grow up without clean water and schools. Change the world today!
Nelly Furtado Donates $1 Million to Free The Children
Nelly Furtado traveled to Kenya this year and was inspired by the women and girls she met while on her trip with Free The Children. The singer did the unimaginable today and announced that she is donating $1 million to Free The Children to build schools for girls in Kenya. Even more moving? The young woman who inspired Nelly to donate the money surprised her on stage!
