We break down our 2013 JUNO Nominee faves

February 20th, 2013

So yesterday we reported on the exciting announcement of this year’s JUNO Awards nominees and we want to start the party early and celebrate some of our personal faves by breaking down our fave picks from the 2013 JUNO Awards!

Carly Rae Jepsen

Our girl Carly Rae leads the pack with nominations in five categories: JUNO Fan Choice, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Pop Album of the year. With Call Me Maybe in her back pocket, she’s sure to be a fan favourite!

Marianas Trench

Josh Ramsay is on fire. Literally. He almost caught fire on Fall Out. But seriously, Josh and the guys have worked tirelessly all year promoting of their best works… ever. Nominated for the JUNO Fan Choice Award, Album of the Year, and Group of the Year, Marianas Trench is probably falling out right now from all the accolades.

Justin Bieber

All hail the Biebs. We didn’t snub him (the Grammys did though). We’ll support our boy. But only if he still wants to be our boyfriend.

Billy Talent

Billy Talent is also nominated for Group of the Year, Single of the Year, and Rock Album of the Year. Can we also give them Best Comeback of the Year? We missed these dudes!

Felix Cartal

A personal favourite of New.Music.Live.‘s Scott Willats, we were so stoked to hear about this nomination for Canadian EDM superstar Felix Cartal. Let’s keep those lights off, right?

Taylor Swift

Our girl Tay is nominated for International Album of the Year. I think it’s time for her to escape the paps by coming here to receive an award, don’t you think?

Be sure to watch the 2013 JUNO Awards airing Sunday, April 21 from the Brandt Centre in Regina on CTV. Tickets for the JUNOS go on sale on Friday morning, Feb 22 at 11E/8P and are available through the Evraz Place Box Office, by phone at 1-800-970-7328, and online at Further news on performers, presenters, and tickets to follow in the coming weeks!
