Britney Spears is gearing up for Monday’s release of her new single Work Bitch and has released the official album artwork. The song is the lead single off Spears’ upcoming eighth studio album and is the warm up to a ‘huge’ announcement Spears will be making on Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning America.
We already know that Spears went international in the studio for Work Bitch, enlisting the help of Swedish producer Otto Jettman, Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso, Irish artist Ruth-Anne Cunningham and Anthony Preston. We also know that the song will be uptempo, thanks to a tweet from Britney’s Scream and Shout co-creator, Will.i.Am, who said “i heard 1billion times in my car…im getting speeding tickets because of it…#workB1TCH”. But what can we gather from the album art?
1. Britney is Back
Gone is the glassy eyed look Spears has sported during past ‘comebacks’. The album art shows Spears confronting the camera dead on, with a certain air of confrontation. I likey.
2. The Body Is Back
Britney-watch by the paparazzi has been focusing on Brit leaving the gym on a daily basis. According to her trainer Tony Martinez, Britney has been doing ‘Olympic-style’ workouts to get in shape for the new album. Buh-bye Photoshop, hello results.
3. Viva Las Vegas
Not only is Britney giving off some mayjah showgirl vibes with her dressing room backdrop for Work Bitch, but if you zoom in on the picture there is a Las Vegas sign in the lower left hand corner. For the past two years, Britney and her own Las Vegas show has been on heavy rotation in the rumour mill. Could this have anything to do with Tuesday’s announcement?
