So you might have thought that Justin Timberlake’s Mirrors was long. Like, pretty long. Like, eight minutes long. Want to know why? Justin Timberlake told Capital FM, “When we were making the record I said, ‘If Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin can do 10-minute songs and Queen can do 10-minute songs then why can’t we?’ We’ll figure out the radio edits later.’”

Highly inspired by Bob Dylan, Justin told Capital FM, “Music is for dreamers.” Justin continued, “You should be able to create another world that you can live in. I’m not gonna speak for Bob Dylan – he’s one of my idols – but from my perspective, as a fan, it seems to me that he started creating music that made him feel like another person and that’s what it should do. [The studio] really is one place that you can still go to that you can be completely free. You can lock yourself in a room and make a whole other world.” We say that if Justin Timberlake wants to make longer songs then why not? There’s never enough JT in our lives!
