What The Ho (Ho Ho)?

santarchy.gifSo a few weeks ago when I was on my way to a house party, I saw a couple of Santas walk out of one of the townhouses on my street. Moments later, DOZENS of other Santas came storming out and they all boarded a giant Magic Bus. I’m not kidding, there were almost 100 Santas in total, yelling and hollering and being generally rowdy.

One of my friends knew exactly what this was about. Apparently there’s an organized movement of Santas making its way around the globe in various cities, and said Santas congregate at annual “Santacon” symposiums. What I witnessed may have been an example of this very thing, although the Santas I saw looked more mischevious than legit santarchy participants, who don’t cause any damage to property or get into trouble. Apparently the premise of the former group is that no one wants to arrest a Santa – so you can cause as much mayhem as you want. Interesting!
