So, I’ve already told you how disappointed I was with One Direction’s new movie, This is Us. Look, I’m still upset about it. But wait! An extended version of the film is coming out this Friday with 20 minutes of extra footage! And four new songs that weren’t previously shown in the movie! There’s hope!
…Okay, probably not.
But hear me out, filmmakers and One Direction. Here are some simple ways you could redeem this movie:
1. More behind-the-scenes footage.
Clearly, this is what we all want more of. We can watch the boys in concert on our own, but when this is a film that focuses on giving us an all-access look at the group’s lives, we kind of want more of that. More of the guys joking around, more of them on-the-go. We understand how tiring these hectic tour schedules can be, but I don’t think we fully got to see and experience it on-screen.
2. LOSE THE SCRIPTS.
You have the best fans ever, yes. You’re just a bunch of regular blokes, yes. This is literally the biggest show you’ve ever played…okay, that last one is a lie. Especially if you say it at least three times in the span of one film, regarding multiple venues. But still. Stop sounding so scripted. Those are genuine responses and we are forever grateful for how humble they are, but we were also hoping for better, more interesting interviews. Oprah would never allow such boring interview responses happen. Unless you’re Lindsay Lohan, of course.
3. Throw out the 3D glasses.
This did not need to be a 3D movie. Honestly, no movies NEED to be in 3D. It was pointless. ADMIT IT.
4. More bromance. Just more, please.
So, instead of four more songs, follow these four simple steps. THAT’S ALL I’M ASKING FOR, 1D.Tweet
