It’s actually dangerous

UPDATE: Gosh. I can’t help but update this post because this development just makes me love the Raptors so much. According to The Globe and Mail, the NBA offered to drop the $25,000 fine if the Raptors stripped Drake of his ambassador title. The Raptors refused. Granted, if they had agreed to that, the backlash would have been huge, but I like to know that they were like, “Hey Drake. We gotchu.”
What was presumably meant as a supportive gesture and a way to rile up the OVO Fest audience, has now cost Drake and the Raptors $25,000. Kevin Durant, the NBA’s 2014 Most Valuable Player slummed it with the common people in the seats of the Molson Amphitheatre at the OVO Fest over the Civic Holiday weekend.
At the end of the night, Drake made sure KD knew what playing for the Raptors would be like. “You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us,” he said. “I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen,” which predictably caused the crowd to erupt in cheers and start chanting KD.
But according to the NBA, this apparently goes against their anti-tampering rules and that Drake calling for the crowd’s support was an attempt at coercion. Durant could become a free agent in 2016 which could maybe possibly bring him to Toronto. I mean, it isn’t likely but lets let Drake think what he wants. What makes this a violation is the fact that Drake was named an official ambassador to the team last year.
Since we don’t know how Drake actually feels about this, here are the 6 stages of feelings we think Drake went through when he heard this news:
WHAT! YOU BETTER STEP OFF. YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING NBA:
Aubrey. Man. Calm down. This isn’t worth getting worked up about:
Damn. This Stings:
Alright. Alright. I think you have a point:
Oh shit. That is right. I have $25,000 in cash in my wallet right now. HA:
