Somewhere after the release of “X&Y” and before Nelly Furtado put out “Loose”, Chris Martin became the new black. In RAP music.

Ok, so he’s not like, this huge thing, and it’s not exactly all rap music, but come on. The guy worked with Nelly Furtado (on an unreleased track), I’m pretty sure he’s jammed with Kanye West and also Justin Timberlake, and now, get this. He produced a track on Jay-Z’s upcoming album. Hello? Chris Martin! What a curious turn of events. Maybe Kanye hanging out with Chris led to the Jay-Z collabo. Who knows. But just to clarify: Chris Martin is the new gangsta.

In other news, I for one am jonesing on the idea of hearing the new Jay-Z album. Retirement, schretirement, it’s not like it was ever really a final good-bye. I applaud your vanity, Hova. Keep it up. No, seriously.
