This White Lies show was one that I was looking forward to for some time now and when Saturday came around the show came and went in a blink of an eye. Saturday’s show was booked as an early show and was over before 9pm!
With a black backdrop consisting of just their logo, the lads from Ealing, London came out to a decent sized crowd and started rocking out. The moment they picked up their instruments and started playing Fairwell to the Fairground the crowd instantly got into it and didn’t let up until the end of the show.
Every song White Lies played the crowd sang along with. Fairwell to the Fairground, Unfinished Business and E.S.T. were all tracks that garnered huge sing-a-longs and frantic jumping.
However the one song that I’m sure everyone was singing to was the single Death. They ended their show with the single and at one point had the whole crowd sing the chorus with lead singer Harry McVeigh encouraging it.
The guys also played a cover of The Rip by Portishead during their two song encore (Death being the other song). This show definitely lived up to the excitement and can’t wait for the next time they’re in town.
