Whoa. Whoa.

October 21st, 2006

Did you hear the one about k-os biting back at a reviewer from Toronto’s Now Magazine, calling him racist? (Here’s k-os’ explanation of the situation). Anyway, I just read this week’s Now, and check out what Danko Jones has to say in the Letters section:

“I don’t much care for the new k-os album, so am I a “sellout” too? Take it from someone who has had his share of bad reviews: you can’t take bad press so personally. If I spent time spitting back at every bad thing said about me in the press I wouldn’t have time to wipe my own ass!
Anyone who’s confident enough to be in the public eye should take everything said about them (especially decent record reviews) with a grain of salt. k-os’s response makes me laugh so hard.
It just sounds so much like a so-called “artist” who’s had too much sunshine massaged up his ass.
In fact, Richards’s review isn’t even bad! Maybe his words hit a nerve that was too close to a truth that k-os can’t face.
For someone to spit “sellout” who worked with Kevin Drew from Broken Social Scene (the white middle-class version of G-Unit) and Buck 65 is about as funny as a white guy who swears in fear that he has black friends.
Someone should pop the bubble this arrogant prick lives in – or rather don’t, cuz everything that comes out of k-os’s mouth makes me laugh laugh laugh.”

Whoa. Everyday beefs got nothin’ on this.
