Whose Side Are You On? If You Say 50, You’re Dead To Me.

We all know by now that next week shall forevermore be known as “The Week 50 Cent Promised To Retire But Actually Didn’t”, otherwise known as “The Great Kanye Vs 50 Challenge of 2007″. Both rappers are releasing much-hyped and much-anticipated third albums on Tuesday, and 50 Cent went so far to say that if Kanye outsells him, he’ll retire. But of course these days, “retire” means “extended vacation”. Anyway, I don’t think it’s any secret that I am, and always have been, on Team Kanye. I will out lip-sync you so bad on ANY track you choose! ANYWAY.
What I’m trying to get at here is that even though both albums aren’t dropping til Tuesday, you can listen to both of them RIGHT NOW. Like, just stop reading and go here. Why are you still reading? These CDs are so far above me and this lame-o blog. GO LISTEN! And choose your choice. Which will be Kanye. Just saying.
PS: My two cents: I’m a little concerned about the overall chill video of ‘Ye’s album. For me, his best songs are the ones with real passion in the music and beat, i.e. “Jesus Walks”, “All Falls Down”, “Drive Slow”, “Encore” (a Jay-Z track but Kanye beat). I think “Graduation” might be a grower, tho…

Honestly, I’m really hoping Kenny Chesney takes the top spot. Not that I’m a major, or even minor, Chesney fan, I’d just like to see neither of those two win after all this ridiculous drama.
