The fine people over at Summit Entertainment are debating whether Breaking Dawn, the final film installment in the Twilight series, should be shown in 3D. The decision must be made by the end of the month, as filming is set to start soon and special 3D cameras will be necessary for the film.
The last 3D film that I saw (and the rest of the world, according to the box office) was Avatar. The 3D thang was cool, but I don’t know that I got that much more out of the film as a result. I think Breaking Dawn would be a good choice for a 3D film, with all the morphing and fighting and overall hawtness coming out of the screen. But, it will also increase ticket prices, thus bumping up ticket sales for the film company. Is this added price worth it for the viewer?
What does everyone think about this? Do I need to embrace the 3D craze?
