Two months in and already Much has amazing feats under our belt. After deadmau5, Pretty Little Liars and Bieber, we held a contest for two lucky winners to be flown to the U.K. to jump up and down for the 2011 BRIT Awards!
Here’s all the wicked stuff they got up to after entering and winning the MuchMusic BRIT Awards contest. And to everyone else out there – this could be you! We’ve got tons of contests running on our site at any given time: Free Ticket Fridays, MuchPresents, Movie Premieres! Right now, we’re sending two lucky winners to L.A. to see the premiere of Red Riding Hood! Plus we’re giving away tickets across Canada for Classified! Check out all of our contests HERE!
Rebecca and her +1 rocked the U.K. the weekend leading up to the 2011 BRIT Awards! There was lots of time to chill, sight-see, and anticipate Bieber taking the stage!
London, England is absolutely AMAZING! I was in shock literally the whole time I was there! My friend and I didn’t have much time to get excited seeing as we had a week between finding out about the trip and leaving for it. During the few days we were there we managed to see almost everything London has to offer! We went to the Natural History Museum the day we arrived (which was super cool because it goes hand in hand with what I’m studying in school!). We did a little sightseeing in Kensington where our hotel was; the area was really posh and expensive and everyone (and I mean everyone) had a super nice car (lexus’, mazerati etc).
We got lost for a few hours but eventually managed to get back to our hotel. We passed out at 2pm and didn’t get up again until the next morning due to jetlag and lack of sleep from the previous 48 hours. The 2nd day we went to central London and saw Big Ben, the Parliament Buildings, Westminster Abbey, London Bridge and Tower Bridge. We also went on the London Eye and were able to see all of London (including a building where the Summer Olympic Games are going to be held next year)! The hardest part about being there is getting used to people driving on the opposite side of the road! They even have signs on the streets for tourists to tell them which way to look when crossing! We also went to Madame Tussaud’s wax museum and got pictures with the Queen and Barack Obama!! The 3rd day we road a double decker bus around London, walked through Kensington Gardens/ Hyde Park, went to Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly. The Queen was even home when we went to see the palace!
The 4th day was the day of the Brit Awards! We spent the morning shopping on High Street, looking in all the super expensive stores! The Brit Awards were crazy fun! While we didn’t know all the performers/ nominees we still had a great time! We had great seats and were only a hockey rink length away from Justin Bieber! Rihanna had an amazing performance though. We got told we had Canadian accents by two people at the award show and then they made us say “eh” and “about”. Overall it was a fantastic trip and a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are very grateful for it!!!!
