Would you PAY to try on clothes? According to reports, stores in Australia will start charging shoppers $50 to try on garments or shoes. The store will refund the 50 bucks if you purchase the item, but keep the money if you decide to walk away. The move is said to prevent people from trying designer items in-store, then buying them online at a discounted price.
Store owners say they’re just trying to compete with the Internet and keep themselves in business. We think it will actually discourage people from going to stores even more! Or at least make them think twice before walking in and trying something on!
