WRISTBANDS: Because You Deserve It.

May 30th, 2006

I’m gonna keep this on the down low between you and me: if you want to be here for this year’s MMVA’s listen closely. Even though this message won’t self-destruct in 5 seconds after you finish reading, it’s still mucho importante.

Step 1: Come to Much HQ, 299 Queen St West Toronto, on June 10 starting at 8am.
Step 2: Make sure you’re 14 or older and you have ID to prove it.
Step 3: You can only get one wristband per person, you put it on when you get it and you wear it until the awards are over (it’s like a badge of honour or something).
Step 4: Bring a non-perishable food item!
Step 5: Drool and salivate and know that the wristband is for outdoor performances only!

  4. All except one will most likely be outside, and even the “indoor” one will be with the windows open. The hard part lies in knowing which stage to go to! ;) If you come to rehearsals on Sat and Sun, you’ll find ouuuuuuuuut

  7. dess: You need a wristband to get into the main parking lot stage area and maybe even the side stage area. But everything is outside so even if you don’t have a wristband you can stand out on the street and see the show! (but from farther away ;))

    kat: I’m not sure if that’s true, but if you’re here early enough, you never know!

  10. I live about two hours away, so how early should I get in line? Oh and I’m 13 years old, will I still be able to attend if my mom gets me the ticket, and I go with her? I need every little detail. Please help! :(

    only my birth certificate and\or my school id.. which shows that i`m in grade 10

    can i use that?

  14. Oh Bye the way if my mom buys me the wrist band cuz I SWEAR my birthday is EXACTLY 2 months AFTER June 10th :’(

    My whole life that I watched T.V. I always wanted to go but my birthday is 2 months too late!:(

  15. How will i know what stage the performances are going to be, and what is the point of the wristbands? Can’t you just go really early on the 18th and get the same benefit? and which band is going to be inside because im there to see Fall Out Boy, and want to know what stage their performing at. Is there a designated wristband area near the stage, that you can get to at any time? Thanks for your help.

  16. ID: You can bring student ID, or your health card, or a passport, even a birth certificate!

    For you guys who are just months short of being 14, I’m not sure if there’s anything you can do. But remember, you don’t need a wristband to be here, you just need one to be in the parking lot. So you can still come and hang out in the street and see the performances!

    Juicy, the only way to know for sure which bands will be on which stage is to show up at like noon on Sunday the 18th for the rehearsals. I guess the only point of wristbands is to be closer to the stage, past the barriers.

  20. Rachel: The person who’ll be doing wristbands said that most people who are 14 use student ID. But if you have ANYTHING else, like a birth certificate or health card, bring it just in case.

  21. You say: ‘come to the Much Hq starting at 8am’ Does that mean that you don’t let people start lining up until 8am, so theres no point in showing up before that, or does that mean that you expect people to start lining up before 8am, and you start giving out the wristbands at 8am?

    Like many others, i’m from out of town, and would like to know when it would be safe to arrive to gaurantee myself a wristband.

  22. Here’s the update, everybody:

    The wristband giveaway will start at around 8am, but people start lining up overnight. However, the giveaway may continue until the afternoon, until all are given away.

    You will be able to choose which stage area you want, and will be told who is performing where.

    And yes, if you’re in grade 9 and have the student ID, that’ll be good enough!

  23. As for RJ, there’s always a chance that someone skipped a grade, so they could very well be only 13, and yet are just now finishing grade 9. So if I was Much, I would only accept a piece of ID that has your birthday on it, like a health card or a birth certificate. Hopefully everyone has at least a birth certificate :P.

  25. that sucks though..
    cus it means that if you’re from toronto you have a great chance to be close to the stage and get wristbands, as for if you live somewhere else in canada like i live in Montreal. the only day i can go down there is on june 20.
    so i’ll get really bad seating like a bad view.. cus i wont have any wristbands.
    you guys should make like a contest on MOD to win some wristbands at least for people from other places in canada (like montreal).

Only a few people will get wristbands - if you get there early enough on the MMVA day (most likely the day before), you’ll still have a decent view… we will be giving away wristbands but not sure if people from Quebec will be eligible (!).. those aren’t our rules, they have to do with the the Quebec lottery rules or something.. it’s a legal thing.

  27. howcome this says to come on the 10th of June
    , but teh television keeps saying teh 13th of june. wihc on is it.. or is it botha dn this oens kinda secret and only for people nwho read about it on teh blog. i really need to know wich day to come. i dont want to arrive and be tehre crazy early to find that there not being handed outf or anotehr 3 days. please let me know ASAP.
