Wyclef will announce Haiti presidential bid next week

There’s been speculation in the last week that Wyclef Jean will run for president in his native Haiti, but now AllHipHop.com can confirm that Wyclef will indeed announce his candidacy next Thursday.

Wyclef was born in Haiti and moved to the US when he was 9 years old. He’s also been extremely involved in Haiti’s recovery from the earthquake this past January through his charity Yele Haiti.

If Wyclef does indeed announce his bid for president on Thursday, it will be two days before the official deadline.
