Just six months after giving birth to her first child, Lights is back with a brand new album and sound for her third studio disc.
The Canadian pop star has been giving fans a heads up to the announcement on her Instagram page, with a 10 day countdown signaling big news ahead. The final day, an image of Lights wearing a shirt with herself pictured on it and wearing a t-shirt with the number one was easily our favourite.
In addition to announcing her latest offering with Little Machines, Lights also released the first single from the album with Up We Go, an inspiring and motivational track perfect to play first thing in the morning.
Leaning towards a traditional pop sound over her usual electronic or acoustic style, Up We Go can at times be mistaken for an Avril Lavigne song, which may predict future success on pop radio.
Lights also released the cover artwork for Little Machines as well as a string of tour dates. Starting October 2nd, Lights will be setting out on a 24-date tour, with 10 Canadian dates.
Little Machines is set to be released in full on September 23.Tweet
