Yes, coincidences are fun, and can be downright bizarre. When I lived in NYC, I would occasionally run into acquaintances by coincidence who were just there visiting for a couple of days or so. In Manhattan, borough of 1.5 million people, you rarely run into your friends or co-workers, let alone people you know who don’t even live there. So when you do, it’s slightly disconcerting. But then, I used to see Beastie Boy Adam Yauch everywhere I went, it seemed, but that’s another story…

Speaking of New York, have you heard of the latest new trend for the upper class, Upper East Side New York lady who lunches? Women of a certain crust have been carrying around stuffed toy lapdogs sticking out of their tote bags. I suppose the real thing can be a tad bit messy, so why not just fake it?
