The numbers are in and it looks as though Young Artists For Haiti is an even bigger success than any could have hoped for.
The biggest is that the song raised over $1 million for the children and families affected by the earthquake in Haiti. But other noted accomplishments include maintaining the #1 position at radio all formats, remaining #1 on iTunes for digital downloads, selling more than 160,000 copies so far, receiving over 4.5 million video views and amassing nearly 100,000 Facebook fans.
It’s not over yet though. All proceeds from the sale of the single and exclusive T-shirts will equally benefit Free the Children, War Child Canada and World Vision in support of their individual on-the-ground efforts in Haiti. In addition, until Friday, April 30th fans can make a $5 SMS mobile donation to Young Artists for Haiti by texting AID to 45678 (Terms at ZipGive.com).
As if you don’t know already, but here’s a reminder of the impressive cast of artists who contributed to the song: Justin Bieber, Jully Black, Pierre Bouvier from Simple Plan, Broken Social Scene, Tyler Connelly from Theory Of A Deadman, Fefe Dobson, Drake, Elisapie Isaac, Esthero, Nelly Furtado, Emily Haines from Metric, Jacob Hoggard from Hedley, Ima, Chin Injeti, K’NAAN, Pierre LaPointe, Avril Lavigne, Lights, Matt Mays, Justin Nozuka, Kardinal Offishall, Sam Roberts, Serena Ryder, Deryck Whibley from Sum 41, Hawksley Workman and Nikki Yanofsky.
