Our primetime line-up of shows are on fire this year at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards. Yes they’re American but MuchMusic and our fans have shown just how much Canadians love each episode: indepth recaps, HD streams, and all the news and gossip you love to click on at Much.com!

And this year the PCA takes aim at these great shows and gives them their due. Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Hellcats and Pretty Little Liars are all up for awards.

When Pretty Little Liars premiered in the summer (exclusively in Canada on Much!) it took us by storm. Not only was “A” targeting the four girls of Rosewood but “A” managed to target our attention as we wondered who she/he was, what her/his secret is, and who she’d/he’d be going after first! And now all that wondering has paid off as the show has been nominated for the People’s Choice Favourite TV Obsession.

The social elite of the Upper East Side (Gossip Girl exclusively in Canada on Much too!) have spent the last year scheming and taking down lesser privileged beings so well they’re up for three awards. Gossip Girl is up for Favourite Drama, with Chace Crawford up for Favourite Actor and Blake Lively up for Favourite Actress.

And what would an awards show be without its vampire connection? The Vampire Diaries is up for Favourite Drama AND Favourite Sci-Fi/Fantasy show. And Mystic Falls’ resident bad boy Damon Salvatore AKA the smoldering hot Ian Somerhalder is also up for Favourite Actor.

And the PCA also likes to show its love of brand new shows too. Case in point – brand spanking new show Hellcats is up for….you guessed it – Favourite New Show.

Canadians up for awards are: everyone’s favourite popstar Justin Bieber (Favourite Breakout Artist, Favourite Video – Baby), everyone’s favourite hip hop star Drake (Favourite Hip Hop Artist) and rock band Nickelback (Favourite Rock Artist).

Twilight, Iron Man, Alice In Wonderland, and Inception are also big contenders in all the major movie categories. The People’s Choice Awards honours talent in movies, television and music as determined by fan voting. The show airs on January 5, 2011 and you can vote for your favourites right HERE.
